Licensed Clinical Social Worker (AZ + UT)
Certified Functional Medicine and Trauma Specialist
Hi. I’m Sheana.
The foundation of my practice rests on an integrative approach, which means that the work we’ll do is personalized to you. I consider mental, physical, and social health as equally important parts of a healthy life, and we’ll incorporate various philosophies and practices into our work to support your growth.
I got my start in the mental health field working with children, youth, and their families. Having worked on school campuses during my undergraduate program, I had a particular interest in understanding the kids who needed a bit more than just a great teacher. You know the kids – smart, capable, and creative, but less than enthusiastic about learning math facts, sitting still for a full lesson, or following directions, particularly those given by an adult. My curiosity about what made those kids work in the way that they do led me to graduate school for Clinical Social Work, which provided me the opportunity to work with precisely those kids, teens, and their families. In over 15 years of experience, I’ve worked with countless children, teens, adults, and families, as well as overseen clinical teams to support the health of the community.
In these years, I’ve had the fortune of connecting with a wide variety of people, each with their own story, their own strengths, and their own needs. While my beginnings as a therapist focused on the care of children, youth, and families, my passion for working with these populations has grown into a commitment to support the health of all.
